Data sources & methodology

- Agency guideline schedulesStates with a verified schedule load official agency rates. States marked “pending-official-verification” use a reference schedule and are labeled model estimates.
- NCSL guideline model overviewModel classification (Income Shares / Percentage of Income / Melson) follows the National Conference of State Legislatures “Brief Child Support Guideline Models.”
Methodology and citations are maintained by the ChildSupportFig editorial team. Where an official guideline schedule is not yet loaded, results are shown as model estimates and the source is stated as a reference schedule.
